Quarter inch (1/4") reels are probably the most recognized open reel type in the world. We record your stereo 2 track quarter inch analog reel-to-reel tape to .wav or.aiff.
Outputs to include Waveform Audio File Format (WAV, WAVE, Broadcast BWF) AIFF, MP3 or CD in formats 16-bit 44.1 kHz (CD) upto 24-bit 192 kHz for the recommended quality outputs in line with iASA Industry Standards.
A half-track reel-to-reel, also known as two-track stereo, is a system, which divides the tape into two logical tracks. The complete width of the tape divides into two tracks, for simultaneous stereo use. In comparison to the previous system (4 track vs. 2 track), we can see that this two track system cannot be flipped over, and therefore, you must use the rewind function when the end of tape is reached.
There is also a half-track monaural system, usually found in domestic tape recorders. In this system, the head is capable of recording on only one side in mono, and therefore you have to flip over the tape in order to use the other side.
