A manuscript is a document containing the text of a book, article or other work. Manuscripts were the principal form of written communication for centuries, with handwritten copies often creating different versions of the same work over time.

Our experienced technicians provide a once-only digital scan, allowing the original books to be returned to secure storage once the digital images have been prepared. Our non-destructive manuscript and journal book scanning service is ideal for rare, precious and valuable books up to A1 size.

State-of-the-art Book-Eye overhead scanners and archival book cradles allow books to be digitised intact, helping to reduce the risk of damage to bindings during scanning. Specialist software supports 24-bit and 16-bit scanning workflows.

Digital outputs include Archival TIFF/RAW, JPEG, PDF (PDF/A), searchable PDF OCR, multipage PDF, Word and eBooks. Delivery can be provided by hard drive, electronic download or secure FTP.
