Our premises are housed with impressive oversized scanners which our centre regularly digitise historic maps to archival standards. Given the important contexual information, to include most often condition issues relating to fragility and deterioration, it was important to invest in a contactless overhead photographic set up.
We purchased the 36" WideTek scanner which is ideal for digitising a very high quality standard but without any fear of damaging the originals. Supporting engineering and architect drawings, maps, ship plans, oversized artwork, photographs and posters. All document types and sizes digitised up to A0+ sizes PDF indexed and OCR processed Digital file formats TIFF, JPEG and PDF.
Ship Plans, Drawings, Parchments, Linen Plans, Cotton Maps, Manuscripts etc Heritage and delicate wide format documents and media require careful delicate digitisation, which should never be subjected to the feed-through scanners because of the fragile nature.
Our professional technicians use specialised flatbed scanning technology, careful handling and ensure a 'once only scan' to preserve the original material. Each scan will capture detail in high resolution to The National Archive Specifications. Our services are able to detect and digitise the most faint marks, capturing all detail to TIFF, JPEG, PDF upto 600dpi in full colour managed outputs.
All artwork can be prepared as Native TIFF, JPEG TIFF, HQJPEG or PDF files. Each artwork is Adobe archival toned and sharpened if needed.The final output is then transferred across via WeTransfer.com.
