Broadcast Digital Betacam Video Tape Transfer to Native Video Files
Commonly known as "DigiBeta," the format was a replacement for the analog Betacam SP format. Digital Betacam was superior to DVCAM and DVCPRO but cheaper than D1. Small cassettes were used in cameras and large cassettes were used in video recording and editing decks.
Betacam SP (commonly referred to as Beta SP) was released in 1987. It increased horizontal resolution to 340 lines. In addition to the existing cassette a larger cassette (25.3 × 14.4 × 2.5 cm)[5] was introduced with 90 minutes of recording time. Betacam SP (for "Superior Performance") became the industry standard for most TV stations and high-end production houses until the late 1990s.
Despite the format's age and its discontinuation in 2001, Betacam SP remained a common standard for standard-definition video post-production into the 2010s.

Yes, our hardware can up-scale digital files which offer image sampling, edge detection techniques and multi-direction diagonal filters. Are tapes cleaned before transfer? All tapes are gently cleaned. This is to ensure the best possible conversion but also to preserve our machinery. Can I drop orders in or post them to you? You are most welcome to bring orders in to our office. Alternatively, you can send your order using the Post Office or our couriers. How long do the orders take to process? This depends upon the order and the difficulties associated with magnetic tape. We would need to assess your order to offer an exact timeline.
