Digital8 was introduced in 1999 and records DV-format digital video on 8mm media. It shares the physical cassette family of Video8 and Hi8, and some Digital8 camcorders can also play earlier analogue 8mm recordings.

Transfer and preservation workflow
Every tape is checked before transfer. We prepare the media, use suitable playback equipment, capture the video signal, review the resulting files and prepare the agreed delivery formats. Where tape condition presents a risk, we discuss the appropriate treatment before proceeding.
