Colour-Managed Artwork Scanning

Colour management is central to artwork digitisation when the digital file is intended to represent the appearance of the original accurately.

A controlled workflow can use colour and tone targets, calibrated equipment and documented processing. The objective is consistent, measurable reproduction rather than simply making an image look attractive on screen.

Standards context: FADGI's guidelines use targets and objective image-performance measures as part of a conforming digitisation programme. citeturn0search0turn0search46

Colour-managed artwork capture

The capture method should be selected around the original object, its condition and the purpose of the digital master. Suitable material may be captured with a WideTEK 36 ART, reprographic camera system or flatbed solution, while delicate, oversized or surface-sensitive work may require a non-contact approach.
