SuperBeta, sometimes referred to as High Band, was a development of the consumer Betamax family introduced by Sony in the 1980s. Its higher horizontal resolution made it an important improvement over standard Betamax and many surviving tapes contain valuable personal, corporate and archive recordings.

Transfer and preservation workflow
Every tape is checked before transfer. We prepare the media, use suitable playback equipment, capture the video signal, review the resulting files and prepare the agreed delivery formats. Where tape condition presents a risk, we discuss the appropriate treatment before proceeding.
