Family 35mm scanning solutions for all project types. From short order to bulk order processing, our professional scanning department can digitise all format film types from:  Non Standard Slide & Negatives, 110 Pocket Slides, 3D Stereo Slides, 126 film mounts, 127 Superslides, 110 Negative Strips, 126 Negative Strips, Disc Negatives.

Standard slide scanning is prepared as high quality JPEG and are perfect for family viewing on TV, monitors and printing upto A4.

SCANNING JPEG OR TIFF? WHICH TO CHOOSE?  We offer 2 options. JPEG which is perfect for viewing on TV, computers, websites and printing upto A4.  JPEG is usually recommended for most consumer clients.  TIFF is an uncompressed format which means the highest quality but these tend to be used for large scale archiving or printing.

HOW WE SCAN YOUR SLIDES  Slides are cleaned by hand, adhering to the National Archival Standards by our skilled technicians.  Dust, debris and minor issues are removed before digititisation.  Depending on the slide will depend on which resolution we will use upto 4800dpi.    Each image is then toned and sharpened using our archival suite to correct colour, brightness and tone.  Any  minor retouching is prepared during this time. The end product is high resolution TIFF or JPEG images.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS - HOW TO ORDER

1. Add all of your items together and either post or bring your order in to our office.

2. If posting, please ensure a letter is within the box, to include your full name, address, email and mobile and post using a tracked service to:

3. Once received, we will prepare an estimate for your approval by email. Once approved, your order will be completed within 15 working days. Urgent orders can be supported but may incur an additional cost.

35mm Slides, 35mm Half Frame, 35mm Negative Strips, 35mm Half Frame Negative Strips, 3D Stereo Slides, 126 film mounts, 127 Superslides and 126 Negative Strips.

Please note: 110mm Slides and Negatives, due to very low grain, must be digitised to Publication TIFF before converting to JPEG.

APS FILM – DISK SPINDLES

Due to the very low grain of the film formats, the film must be digitised to Publication TIFF before going into post production for colour, tone and sharpening. Once processed, we then convert the images to JPEG.

MEDIUM FORMAT FILM TYPES

Film and camera types in which a single frame is larger than 135 film (36x24mm) but smaller than 4x5 inches. Typically 120 or 220 film types.

This service involves Adobe lab processing for unsharp masking and toning. Perfect for archiving, publications and professional printing.

LANTERN SLIDES, PHOTOGRAPHIC NEGATIVE GLASS PLATES, TINTYPES AND SHEET TRANSPARENCY SCANNING SOLUTIONS

All plates, transparencies and X-rays are digitised to their respective dpi, unless you have specific requirements.

Digitisation incorporates professional scanning software and machinery specifically designed for digitising transparency film types, perfect for high-quality archiving, illustration and diagnostic purposes, in line with The National Archives Standards.
