1/4 inch audio reel to reel tapes typically fall in 2 categories, the first being the domestic tape, used by private clients for recording voices and music. The other being Studio Master tapes, used by professional studios, educational and business use. Both tapes will have a range of playing speeds and tape lengths.

Outputs to include Waveform Audio File Format (WAV, WAVE, Broadcast BWF) AIFF, MP3 or CD in formats 16-bit 44.1 kHz (CD) upto 24-bit 192 kHz for the recommended quality outputs in line with iASA Industry Standards.

We work extensively with historical and archive companies and museums, production houses and consumer clients with their half-track 2-track audio reel to reels.   All tapes are baked, if required, prior to conversion, ensuring a once-only-pass for the highest quality conversion.

Our audio department use professional TEAC A-3440 tape decks for high quality production of corporate and domestic magnetic audio reel to reel tapes.  The specifications of these machines include a track system with 4-track, 4-channel, stereo/multi channel, taking reels  up to 10.5" with  tape speeds: 7 1⁄2 and  15 ips.   Any tapes that are encoded for dbx type 1 noise reduction will be decoded using an outboard dbx 150 type 1 NR unit.
